On April 24, the integral lifting of the steel structure roof of hangar no. 1 of Xiamen Taigu Xiangan Airport Maintenance Base project was successfully completed, marks the world's largest single, the largest span of civil aviation aircraft maintenance hangar reached a major construction node.

According to the Eighth Bureau Xiamen Taigu Xiangan Airport Maintenance Base Project, Hangar No. 1, Hangar No. 2 are the core of the project, total steel consumption is nearly 30,000 tons. The steel structure roof of Hangar No. 1 is the largest integral lifting unit, with a length of 525.1 meters and a width of 73.85 meters. The projected area is about 38,800 square meters, which is equivalent to 93 standard basketball courts and weighs 11,393 tons, approximately equal to 7600 family cars, the maximum span of the single span of the portal truss of the hangar is 269.5 meters, which is the first in the world. At the construction site, 11 lifting pump stations and 54 hydraulic pressure devices were operated through the control system. After 8 hours, the roof of Hangar No. 1 slowly rose, and the overall lift was 27 meters, complete closure.

 

It is reported that the roof of Hangar No. 1 Hall, which is being upgraded this time, is a three-story, two-way orthogonal welding ball grid and a three-story long-span truss structure system. The assembling height of the welding ball grid is more than 12 meters, the assembling height of the truss is more than 15 meters, and the assembling is extremely difficult. To this end, the project adopts in-situ assembly and modular assembly technology, through BIM technology to deepen modeling, die-closing collision inspection and digital processing, the overall process of assembly construction simulation preview, ensure that assembly work is carried out efficiently. In the process of lifting, the project team uses the steel frame column of hangar body as the supporting system, without additional lifting frame, which greatly improves the construction efficiency. The entire roof weighs are more than 10,000 tons, to ensure the overall structural safety, which is not a small challenge to the entire construction team. In order to ensure the accuracy and safety of the construction, the Xiamen Quality and Security Station and the project team have repeatedly demonstrated that monitoring sensors have been placed on the roof at key poles, just like the front end of an inspection instrument during a physical examination in our lives, real-time monitoring of the site construction conditions. Through the accuratePulseof each monitoring sensor, getting the corresponding curve chart, for the construction staff to make a scientific judgment in time.

 

During the construction of the project, the Xiamen Airport Area Command is strictly supervising and managing the quality of the project. The steel structure of the project will be completed in July this year, follow-up will be a comprehensive mechanical and electrical installation, decoration and construction of the envelope, is expected to achieve completion in November 2025 acceptance. Xiamen Taikoo Xiangan Airport Maintenance Base Project is located at the northern side of the flight area of Xiamen Xiangan Airport, with an area of about 537,300 square meters and a gross area of about 292,300 square meters. Upon completion, it will further enhance the operational support capacity and comprehensive service level of Xiamen Xiang 'an airport, helping Xiamen to build a high-level international aviation hub and an important highland for the global aviation maintenance industry, it provides strong support for promoting high-quality integrated development of the cross-strait economy and implementing high-quality Belt and Road.
