What does MJ mean?

MJ stands for Mechanical Joint and is a compression type of fitting. A mechanical joint is a time-saving, easily installed joint that insures long-term, trouble-free performance. Uncomplicated, this joint comprises a gland, gasket and bolts. It requires no mechanical skill to install, is unusually easy and fast to assemble.

When the bolts are tightened, two metal pieces are drawn together, which squeezes a rubber gasket that is between them. This compresses the gasket forcing it to press tightly against the pipe and make a seal. An MJ seal is rated for 350 psi for 2" to 24" fittings, and to 250 psi for 30" to 36" fittings.

The difference between OS&Y gate valve and NRS ...

1.The stem of the OS&Y gate valve is exposed, while the stem of the NRS gate valve is in the valve body.

2.The OS&Y gate valve is driven by the thread transmission between the valve stem and the steering wheel, thereby driving the gate to rise and fall. The NRS gate valve drives the gate to rise and fall through the rotation of the valve stem at a fixed point. When switching, the steering wheel and the valve stem are connected together and relatively stationary.&#;&#;

3.The transmission thread of the NRS gate valve is located inside the valve body. During the process of opening and closing the valve, the valve stem only rotates in place, and the opening and closing state of the valve cannot be judged by the naked eye. The drive thread on the stem of the OS&Y gate valve is exposed outside the valve body, and the opening and closing and position of the gate can be judged intuitively.

4. The height dimension of the NRS gate valve is small, and the installation space is relatively small. The OS&Y gate valve has a large height when it is fully opened, and requires a large installation space.

5. The stem of the OS&Y gate valve is outside the valve body, which is convenient for maintenance and lubrication. The stem thread of the NRS gate valve is inside the valve body, which is difficult to maintain and lubricate, and the valve stem is easily eroded by the medium, and the valve is easily damaged. In the scope of use, the OS&Y gate valve is more extensive.
