We keep a small stainless steel bucket in the kitchen for compostable organics. We had been using paper bag liners for a while but those didn't fit well, were expensive, and leaked badly or worse, got mould on them.

After some research bought these liners and have been using fo several weeks with the following observations:

1. They are super thin and consequently not all that durable. For a small bin like ours they were fine, but I don't know if I could trust them in larger sizes in bigger receptacles.

2. They 'sweat'. Even though they're a plastic-like material, they let moisture through to some extent. While they contain liquids some moisture seems to evaporate through the walls, and this can condense on the outside of the bag/inside of garbage can.

3. Notes above aside, they hold up well and we haven't had any problems with them.

While I can't speak to the actual degradability of them I'll take their word. For our use they've been fine.
