The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum
I still really like The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and I still think it’s a great staple in your skincare routine. The stickiness isn’t my favorite part of the serum, and that’s a big reason why I think there are better ones out there. However, I have hydrated and plump skin, which does what it promises. Overall, it makes a good, basic Hyaluronic Acid serum for sure!

Hyaluronic Acid Serums are real hydration heroes and one of the reasons why I love them and want to try as many different brands as possible. I’m still hoping to find an even better one than I already did. But either way, I found some top-notch serums already, and one of them is The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum.
The molecular size of Hyaluronic Acid determines its depth of delivery in the skin. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid formulation combines low-, medium- and high-molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid, as well as a next-generation Hyaluronic Acid crosspolymer at a combined concentration of 2% for multi-depth hydration in a water-based formula. This system is supported by the addition of Vitamin B5 which also enhances surface hydration.
Penetrating the skin to reach its deeper layers, The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 delivers lasting hydration and offers visible plumping and moisture retention so that skin looks smoother, softer, and healthier. The hyaluronic acid at the center of this super serum attracts up to 1000 times its weight in water, while a brilliant boost of vitamin B5 heals dry and damaged areas by stabilizing the skin’s barrier function and promoting the growth of stronger tissue.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum is perfectly suited for Normal, Oily, Combination, Dry and Sensitive skin.
Apply a few drops to the face AM and PM before creams. If irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum is alcohol-free, oil-free, silicone-free, nut-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and vegan.
The Ordinary is available at their own website theordinary.com, Sephora, and Cult Beauty. The serum retails for $7 (30ml) or $13.50 (60ml).
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum is one of the first Hyaluronic Acid serums I’ve ever tried, and it is still one of my favorites. If you’re new to trying hyaluronic acid, start with this one or the Inkey List, because their products are affordable and if you come to the conclusion that you don’t like it you didn’t waste much money.
However, I don’t think you can hate Hyaluronic Acid because it’s really essential in a skincare routine. The Ordinary does a great job with this Hyaluronic Acid because it promises and provides the support of hydration, while it’s also infused with B5 for enhanced hydration and healing of any dry and damaged area. The results of the Vitamin B5 aren’t really visible to me, even though I do have normal to dry skin, because I don’t have dry patches or damaged skin. The B5 might be working on a deeper level that I’m not able to see, though.
The formula of this The Ordinary serum is a bit thick and sticky so it doesn’t have the nicest feeling when applying/when it’s absorbing into the skin, but it does get less sticky over time, and when it’s fully absorbed it’s not really sticky anymore. Apply a moisturizer on top and it’s basically gone so it doesn’t have to be a problem. However, if you don’t like a sticky feeling you won’t like this serum.
I’ve read some comments on the internet saying that the serum pills, but I personally have never noticed it. I always let my serums (or any other product) dry/absorb before I apply anything on top, either another skincare product or makeup, so I’m not sure if this is the problem but I would recommend letting it absorb before your continue to avoid pilling.
My skin feels hydrated after I applied this serum! I mainly use it at night because of the stickiness (I’ve used it in the AM too, before makeup, and still no pilling if you’re wondering) and I wake up with hydrated, plump skin. I truly think that, especially for the price, this The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum is worth the try as I’m sure quite a lot of you will like it. It makes a good, basic Hyaluronic Acid serum for sure!
Even though I’ve found better options in the meantime, I still really like The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and I still think it’s a great staple in your skincare routine. The stickiness isn’t my favorite part of the serum, and that’s a big reason why I think there are better ones out there.
However, I have hydrated and plump skin, so it does what it promises. If the B5 is doing much for my skin, I’m not entirely sure, but I think people with dry patches and skin that’s damaged can definitely see benefits from this extra added vitamin. Overall, it makes a good, basic Hyaluronic Acid serum for sure!

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is found in the body, and it plays a crucial role in maintaining skin health. In fact, hyaluronic acid helps keep skin hydrated by providing it with a nutrient pool of water-binding molecules. As a result, moisture levels in the skin remain high, which helps to prevent dryness and other signs of aging. Furthermore, hyaluronic acid also plays an important role in the formation and maintenance of collagen, which is an important structural protein that provides skin with strength and elasticity.
In addition to its role in helping to maintain healthy skin, hyaluronic acid can also be used in the form of a hyaluronic acid serum or hyaluronic acid moisturizer to help restore and improve the appearance of skin over time. Because hyaluronic acid is able to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, it can act as a natural lubricant to help reduce signs of dryness and wrinkles over time. In addition to this, hyaluronic acid can also help to fight acne-causing bacteria by acting as an immune booster.

Yes, you can even use it in the AM and PM every day.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum is definitely good for the skin because it’s very hydrating and our skin always needs hydration. Even people with combination and oily skin need hydration.
Just apply a few drops to the face AM and PM before creams.
